Mikaela Kvan joined Balmori Associates in 2014. She is educated in urban and environmental studies, and has considerable experience in community organizing.
Prior to joining Balmori, Mikaela was a Student Research Fellow and travel grant recipient at the India China Institute within The New School. She conducted ethnographic research in China and Cambodia as part of an independent study on garment manufacturing and quotidian urban life in developing economic regions.
In 2015, Mikaela was the recipient of The Vann Molyvann Project Fellowship. To document the social significance of Cambodia's foremost modernist architect Vann Molyvann’s work she interviewed and recorded the everyday experiences of Cambodian's who used the structures in video.
Mikaela holds a Bachelor of Science in Urban Design from Parsons The New School for Design in New York City.
