Lucila joined Balmori in 2017 as a landscape designer after her internship in 2016. She holds a Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture (MLA) from the Rhode Island School of Design and a Bachelor’s in Architecture (B.Arch), from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Colombia.
Currently she is archiving Diana Balmori’s legacy for Yale University. She brings in her knowledge and training in the assessment process. She also contributes to the design team for ongoing and new projects.
She is focused in how Design-Thinking Research can promote development and in solving resiliency issues of the built environment from the point of view of landscape architecture.
Previously, in Colombia, she has contributed to several landscape and urban projects of multiple scales including public space, streetscape, urban, master planning, oil field extraction remediation design, and garden design. She also has experience in architectural design, focusing on social housing in conjunction with city planning and private developers.
