“I draw in order to see” - Diana Balmori (1932-2016)
Diana Balmori was a creative visionary. Her intellectual curiosity, interest in blurring boundaries and her passion for nature, music and art were reflected in her work.
In 1990, Diana Balmori founded Balmori Associates as a multi-disciplinary, multi-lingual team of individuals who shared her desire to design exceptional spatial experiences with sustainable ideas for the community. Led by Javier González-Campaña and Noémie Lafaurie-Debany, partners at the firm for over five years, Balmori Associates will continue to push landscape boundaries forward.
Javier has worked alongside Diana since 1998 and shares her passion for plants. An urban ecologist, he graduated from Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies. Noémie joined Balmori Associates in 2007. Trained as an architect, she has worked closely with Diana on a number of publications and directs the BAL/LABs.
Thank you for your support and the many gracious messages we have received from across the globe.
